The Meteor is located on the first floor of a luxury apartment building. I can only describe it as the vibiest place ever, and I’m already planning my return. I swear if I had double my income, I’d move in tomorrow. I could truly live here—eat, sleep, and just exist in the coziness. Even the bathrooms were a whole vibe. Parking was the only downside; I found a spot on the street, but they also offer paid parking. It’s located in the Dallas Design District, so there’s plenty to do nearby. Lattes run about $6, and this place is great for chatting with friends, quiet time, homework, or even crafting.
There are three main sections: first, you walk into a bar where you can order pizza, wine, tea, cocktails, and iced tea. They even had a prickly pear lemonade for $8 that sounded amazing! I’ll definitely be trying it next time! They have trivia nights on Thursdays and occasional movie nights on a projector. One of the rooms is filled with couches, bistro tables, and a projector. I would use this room to drink lattes, play board games with friends (bananagrams obvi), and even just read a book. The final section is made up entirely of booth seating. This space is definitely more for taking time with eating a meal and spending intentional time with friends.
The whole place reminded me of some of the markets I’ve been to with friends. There was one in Boston where my friend Nicky and I did a wine tasting or the one in Austin that I explored with my friend Taylor. Taylor is actually who I came here with. She had been to The Meteor the week before on a date and wanted to introduce me to it. We split a 12-inch sourdough crust pizza (gluten-free!), loaded with pepperoni, sausage, and other meats. It was $18 and probably the best pizza I’ve ever had. There were only four pizza options on the menu, which kept things simple and high quality.
Come here if: you’re looking for a spot where you can truly settle in for hours. Whether you’re in the mood for coffee or cocktails, craving a pastry, pizza, or sandwich, or just want the flexibility of sitting on a couch, at a table, or in a cozy booth, this place has it all! Very versatile!
